Alexa Fairchild is a lifestyle project with a strong streetwear vibe channeled through statement pieces that inspire freedom of expression, individuality and the pursuit of adventure.
Seasonless and gender-neutral, each garment is entirely hand-crafted in Italy by expert artisans who match the highest forms of expertise to technical innovation. Cases in point are the use of reflective piping to be visible in the dark and an exclusive anti-bacterial and hypo-allergenic Luxor nylon for leggings and technical tops. The result is great stand-alone pieces to be mixed-and-matched liberally and that can be purchased year-round.
Deeply interlaced with the brand is the concept of a “Freedom Tribe,” a dynamic vision and approach where like-minded, risk-taking and fearless dreamers of different ages and walks of life, connect to stand out of the pack as they follow their dreams.
Sustainability is a heartfelt value at Alexa Fairchild.
Committing to ethical fashion, the knitwear is made using Cardato Cashmere, a recycled Italian cashmere produced in the Prato district with at least 65 percent of recycled materials. Environmental impact is minimized throughout the entire production cycle by carefully monitoring the consumption of water and energy. The garments are produced using discarded clothing or knits, a further testament of the manufacturer’s concern for the environment, know-how and professionalism.
Similarly, the packaging is made from Tyvek, a strong, flexible and recyclable material that provides a durable and functional protective barrier when shipping the products that can also be reused as a shopping tote.
The packaging is handled by Dienpi, a cutting-edge company known for its eco-friendly raw materials that include certified organic fabrics, water ink, and recycled and natural papers among others. Dienpi is part of the Detox Commitment by Green Peace as it has eliminated eight groups of polluting and dangerous chemicals from their production process. Indeed, the entire value-chain has been rendered sustainable by opting to house all the logistics, quality control and shipping in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, close to the suppliers. Thus, an extra step of shipping the goods to Belgium, where the company is located, has been eliminated and streamlined.
Our collection is handcrafted in Italy by artisans, whose passion for exceptional quality and value, has been blended with technological innovation.
Alexa Fairchild is the brainchild of a close-knit family with both American and European backgrounds and an inherited passion for fashion – Stephen and Erin Fairchild, and their two daughters, Alexa and Natasha. In their different yet complementary roles, each member brings an invaluable contribution. Alexa is Creative Director and Co-Managing Director; Erin is Co-Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer; Natasha is Visual Manager. With his extensive fashion background, Stephen is a consultant providing expertise, drive and insight.
The collection reflects the family’s love of travel, culture and sports, especially surfing (Stephen and Natasha are avid surfers always in search of the perfect wave), skating, skiing and riding.
With experiences that range from publishing to communications to design, all the family members are well-versed in all aspects of the fashion industry for several generations. Stephen and Erin have worked with the world’s most influential designers, gaining an extensive yet in-depth experience.
An ex-horseback rider herself, Erin transmitted her passion to Alexa, whose dream is to compete in dressage in the Tokyo Olympics. It was only natural for Alexa to fuse her two passions – horses and fashion – creating a cultivated, street-creed collection. Natasha, Alexa’s younger sister, is currently studying film and digital production at Regent’s University in London.
